MRIN Genealogy Filing System+ Published

This full-color presentation is the revised, expanded and definitive text of a genealogy filing system based on Marriage Record Identification Numbers.

The MRIN Filing System was developed by professional genealogist, Karen Clifford, many years ago as a paper-based system only. This book is my adaption for digital use. I have used this system successfully since 2005 with over 25,000 files so far.

This is a filing system with versatility and perspective. Whether you're looking for a record-type, location, an individual, family, entire descendant line or combination of factors, it can take you there.

Although it is demonstrated in detail here using Legacy Family Tree, it will work with any genealogy database that uses MRINs or another reference number that can be tied to marriages.

Specific to Legacy, it covers the many uses of MRINs and LTools numbering. Non-specific; Numbering, File Naming, Metadata, Filing, Searching Files, Q&A's and Inlaws.

Whether you don't have a filing system, or you do but can't find your files fast, there are ideas here that could augment your present approach.
